NEA Launches Online Guide to Help Keep Schools Safe
WASHINGTON, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As schools nationwide revamp their emergency response systems and update safety preparedness, the National Education Association Health Information Network (NEA HIN) today launched its new School Crisis Guide: Help and Healing in a Time of Crisis. Developed with a generous grant from the Sprint Foundation, the easy-to-use online guide provides action steps, tips and resources to help educators prepare for emergencies; respond competently during a crisis; and assist students, staff and families in recovering after a crisis. The new, comprehensive guide focuses on school safety, provides advice on handling both man-made and natural disasters, and includes a section on violence prevention. "While schools are among the safest places for children, crises like Columbine, 9/11, Katrina and Virginia Tech taught us our nation's students are not immune from tragedy or suffering," said NEA President Reg Weaver.
Apple and Ticketmaster launch new ticket+album sales promotion
Ticketmaster has announced a new promotion in which purchasers of concert tickets can simultaneously purchase the corresponding artist's album for $1 off the iTunes Store price. Upon purchasing of the combo, customers are provided a direct link to the iTunes Store where they will be allowed to download their album. The promotion goes through December 29, 2007, at which time one could assume that users will still be able to make a joint package purchase but without the dollar discount. "This Ticketmaster + iTunes program instantly gives our music huge exposure to a very important consumer audience—the people who come to our shows," said everyone's favorite rapper/producer/political commentator Kayne West. "Touring is the most powerful and sincere connection that we have with our fans, so being able to deliver our music for download during the ticket buying process is a slam-dunk for us, and for all recording and touring artists out there who depend on reaching their live audience." This isn't the first relationship between Apple and the ticket giant.
The state of 'Paradise City': Cape officials cite high, lows of 2007 ...
We're finding some nice places in decent neighborhoods in the $70,000 range. I could be wrong but this doesn't seem that bad to me. Granted, we're not looking a huge houses in the high dollar subdivisions. We're both in our fifties and are well past the "upwardly mobile" stage but they're still pretty nice houses. .
